The festival of lights is just around the corner and the demand for traditional ghee sweets rises with every festive season. Families seek delightful sweets or snacks prepared with the famous Amul ghee, which has been around for quite some time now. Recently, the brand has come back in the headlines because of the adulterated ghee supply in the market. In an unfortunate twist, the famous brand ‘Amul’ issued a warning guideline on the sale of counterfeit ghee in one-litre packs.

The company claims that they have not produced the one-litre refill packs for the last three years now, showing a comparison between the fake and original ghee packs. According to some sources, the brand stopped manufacturing the 1-litre format a while ago and the fake ghee is not only misleading the customers but failing to meet the quality parameters as well. The counterfeited ghee is harmful to health and might cause health problems in the long run.
With the increasing growth of spurious products, Amul has introduced duplication-proof carton packs that help customers know the real ghee from the fake. The new packaging indicates that the ghee is packed at the ISO-certified dairies of Amul with the latest aseptic filling technology to provide the best quality standards.
How to check the original Amul ghee?
For someone who seeks actual and original products, Amul has provided a toll-free number 1800 258 3333 for verification. If the customers have suspicions or doubts about the purity or originality of ghee, the brand provides various ways for customers to identify actual products.

The brand was fast enough to separate itself from the allegations by stating that it has never supplied ghee to TTD.
Back in November 2023, a factory manufacturing ‘spurious ghee’ in Delhi NCR was busted. The counterfeited ghee was poured into the containers of popular brands such as Patanjali, Amul and Mother Dairy.
