hero 2.5r xtunt based motorcycle design patented

Hero MotorCorp is slowly expanding its range of premium motorcycles in the Indian market. The range currently includes models like the Karizma XMR and Mavrick 440. Now, the brand seems to be planning on adding new 250 cc bikes to the range. Based on the latest leaked patent image, this bike will be based on the Hero 2.5R Xtunt concept revealed by the brand earlier at the 2023 EICMA.

A design patent showing the outlines of the Hero Karizma 250 leaked previously. The recently surfaced design of the bike based on the 2.5R Xtunt concept seems to be a naked version of the Karizma 250. A notable design element of the bike is its headlight with an extremely sharp and aggressive design. The design of the fuel tank with sharp lines and shrouds matches the design of the headlamp cowl.

The sharp design merges well with the split seat design used on the machine. It comes equipped with a handlebar placed low and the footpegs towards the rear end of the bike which will likely offer an aggressive riding stance. The bike also seems to have a radiator grille and an upswept exhaust.

The aggressive looks of the motorcycle will likely be backed by the performance of a new 250 cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine. This power unit might be shared with the Karizma 250. However, there are no details available on the specifications yet. It is to be noted that the outgoing version of the Karizma XMR gets a 210 cc engine which is tuned to give out 25 bhp of power and 20 Nm of peak torque.

The Hero 2.5R Xtunt concept-based motorcycle also seems to be sharing its hardware with the Karizma XMR. It is likely to have similar-sized alloy wheels, upside-down forks, and tubular steel chassis.
