Superstar Salman Khan and his father, Salim Khan, have been receiving death threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang for some time. After the murder of Baba Siddique, police have increased their security. Amid this, Salim's comment regarding his son's involvement in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case has sparked anger within the Bishnoi community.

Salman Khan, Salim Khan's Effigies Burnt

On Saturday, members of the Bishnoi community in Rajasthan assembled in Jaipur to protest against the Bollywood superstar and his father. The group set fire to their effigies following a comment made by Salim that they deemed "misleading."

"We are Bishnois, we do not defame anyone just like that. When the case was registered 26 years ago, many dignitaries, including the then MLA of the Bishnoi community, were present. Salim Khan cannot mislead people by giving false statements. The entire community was hurt by Salim Khan's statement. We will make all-out efforts to ensure justice was delivered in the Blackbuck case. We will also protest by taking to the streets," they reportedly said in a statement.

What Salim Khan Said

At a time when several politicians have urged Salman to issue a sincere apology regarding the blackbuck incident and to resolve his enmity with Lawrence, Salim has denied any claims of his son's involvement. Despite the conviction, he stated that Salman was not even in the car when the animal, considered sacred by the Bishnoi community, was killed.

“He doesn’t have the habit of killing animals. He loves them. He doesn’t even kill a cockroach,” Salim said while talking about his son's kindness.

He added: “Apologizing would mean admitting guilt. Salman has never harmed any animal, and we’ve never even used a gun. So why should he say sorry?”

This has left the Bishnoi community furious.
