Mumbai: A stampede at Bandra Terminus in the early hours of Sunday left nine passengers injured, two of them critically. The incident occurred around 2:55 am on Platform No. 1 as a large crowd gathered for the Bandra-Gorakhpur Express, scheduled to depart at 5:10 am. The rush of passengers led to chaos, resulting in a stampede that left several people hurt.
The injured passengers were immediately rushed to Bandra Bhabha Hospital for treatment. Dr. Ritesh, the Medical Officer at the hospital, confirmed that nine individuals had been admitted. While most of them are in stable condition, two passengers are in critical condition and receiving intensive care.

The names of the injured include Shabbir Abdul Rehman (40), Parmeshwar Sukhdar Gupta (28), Ravindra Harihar Chuma (30), Ramsevak Ravindra Prasad Prajapati (29), Sanjay Tilakram Kangay (27), Divyanshu Yogendra Yadav (18), Mohammad Shareef Shaikh (25), Indrajith Sahani (19), and Noor Mohammad Shaikh (18). Both Indrajith and Noor Mohammad remain in critical condition.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the stampede and working on measures to manage the crowd more effectively in the future to prevent similar incidents.
