kunwar amar on facing financial crisis during covid: 'had zero saving, my partner left me that time' - exclusive

Kunwar Amar recently won several hearts with his stint on the popular TV show Anupamaa where he played the role of Titu. Not long ago, he made an exit from the Rajan Shahi-produced TV soap as it took a 15-year-leap. Recently, Times Now/ Telly Talk India got a chance to sit down with Kunwar for a heart-to-heart chat where he opened up about the years from 2018 to 2022 where he was in a bad phase since he was struggling financially. Amar said that he had zero work and had no saving to sustain himself. It was during this time that his ex-girlfriend, Charlie Chauhan, broke up with him due to his financial situation.

Kunwar Amar on his financial struggles

The actor told us, "Everything was going great in my life. I was leading a popular youth-based dance show, I was doing TV shows, dance shows, etc. My dark phase started from 2018 to 2022. Those 4-5 years, I had zero work. On top of that, Covid happened. Our industry was the one to be shut down the first time and to be opened the last. Our whole work was physical. It was a very dark phase. I had no saving and investment because no one had prepared us for such a situation. Rent kaise hoga yeh bhi nahin pata tha. Mera khana chodho, I didn't even know how to buy my dog's food. It was so brutal. I was struggling a lot that's why I thought when my breakup happened that time that my partner shouldn't struggle with me. Apki problem apki problem hain."

He added, "When I had left Indore in 2010, I had promised myself that I wouldn't go back due to failure. That was not an option for me. That thought made me survive. God was so kind to me that I used to get small gigs during that time. Usse mere maheene ka kharcha nikal jata tha at least. God was giving me a sign that he would give me enough to survive for every month but can I survive it? Can I fight it? Meri zidd thi dekhte hai kitna todte ho aap."

Kunwar further said, "I never took loans from my friends but my parents understood whenever I needed help. Avaz sunkar pehchaan lete the. My dad would quietly transfer some money in my account without telling me. He knows my dreams."

On his breakup during that time

Kunwar Amar was in a relationship with dancer Charlie Chauhan for four years. They had even appeared together on Nach Baliye 5 in 2013. We asked Kunwar why didn't his ex choose to stay with him during his bad times. To this, the actor answered, "I am a very reserved person. I don't tell my problems to people. She knew I was struggling for work. But I didn't let her know that I was struggling financially too. I feel you should not open up about your finances to your partner if you feel that they aren't the right one for you. Yeh mera sochna hain."

Kunwar Amar had gained immense fame after his performance in Dil Dosti Dance.
