Will Shikhar Dhawan Play IPL 2025?
Shikhar Dhawan will not be part of the IPL 2025 as he announced retirement from all forms of cricket. The then Punjab Kings captain could only play just five games in IPL 2024 due to a shoulder injury. Dhawan's retirement came as a shock as many felt he had a few years of T20 cricket left in him. Dhawan said he announced retirement as he did not have the inspiration to play domestic cricket or IPL.
"I didn't want to play domestic cricket, which I started playing at the age of 18 or 19, and I didn't have that inspiration from inside to play that (form of) cricket," Dhawan told PTI during the interview.
"The last two years of my career, I wasn't playing much international cricket, and I was playing IPL to IPL. So, I wasn't playing much overall," he explained.
