Pickleball is quickly gaining a lot of popularity across the globe and is evident from the fact that a cricket-loving nation like India has shown a whopping 150% growth in pickleball, which is the highest among the growing nations in the world pertaining to this sport.
India is presently swayed away by the ongoing PWR DUPR India Masters happening in New Delhi at the DLTA Stadium with Indian and international stars battle it out in the PWR 700 event. The India Masters is the fruition of the collaboration between The Times Group and the Pickleball League Asia Private Limited to give birth to the Pickleball World Rankings with the sole aim of taking the game further not just in India but in the world as well.
Amid the pickleball celebration in India, many would not know that in the world of pickleball, age is truly just a number. This was evident from Lois White, a 95-year-old from Kansas, who has proven this statement true time and again with her skills and dedication to the game.
Despite her advanced age, White regularly competes against players who are way more younger than her. Amazingly, she also hits the court at least twice a week, leaving those in attendance in awe as she showcases remarkable agility, precision, and competitive spirit that belies her years.
Her ability to keep up with younger opponents has earned her immense respect and admiration from the pickleball community.
White's journey into pickleball began relatively late in life. However, once she discovered the game, she quickly became hooked. The sport's combination of strategy, skill, and social interaction perfectly suited her lifestyle and competitive nature.

White is not the only one who has taken up the sport at a later age. Recently tennis legend John McEnroe played the game with other legends like Andre Agassi, and Andy Roddick. After playing the sport, McEnroe reflected on it and said: “As we get older, we’re covering less and less of the court so this seemed to make more sense since it’s about a third the size.”
Meanwhile, fellow tennis legend Agassi too was drawn to Pickleball, thanks to his friend Andy Roddick.
"What has been pretty fun is getting the daily analysis from Andre Agassi and his breakdowns of what he's learned, what's working for him, what we should do," Roddick says. "It's been kind of a fun excuse to reconnect almost on a daily basis now," said Roddick.
