India are currently taking on New Zealand in the second Test of the three-match series at the Mahrashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium in Pune. This is a must-win game for India especially after losing the first Test at Bengaluru, as a NZ win would mean the first series loss for India at home in 12 years. India made three changes to the playing XI, and one of the biggest additions to the team was Washington Sundar in place of Kuldeep Yadav. He has now created history during the match.
Washington Sundar Becomes First Indian To Achieve BIG Feat
Washington Sundar ran through the New Zealand batting order in his return to Test Cricket after 3 years. He finished with figures of 7/59 in the match. He now becomes the first player from India to take a five-wicket haul at the MCA Stadium in Pune. Overall he becomes the second player to take a five-wicket haul at the ground after Australia's Stephen O'Keefe.
This is also the best-ever bowling figures by a player at the MCA Stadium in Pune.
