Pickleball's popularity is growing among people of all age groups and it can become a top sport in India in the next few years. Professional tennis player Chandril Sood is confident that pickleball can even compete against cricket.
"I am a professional tennis player. I was 282 (ranked) in the world. I recently represented India in Portugal in the 30+ category. I won the gold medal in mixed doubles and bronze in doubles there. I saw that there's a pickleball event in Delhi. There's a huge trend in Canada (about pickleball). I wanted to try it out. I came here and I am playing the event," he told Pickleball Now.
"It's growing at a faster rate than I have seen any sport grow. It's a very good thing. That's why I was intrigued and wanted to see how the sport is. I wanted to play it, that's why I am here. Hopefully, I can see…in one or two years, it can be bigger than any other sport. Cricket is there but it can be the sport that can compete with cricket."
