Bengaluru: Bengaluru, often referred to as the Silicon Valley of India, is grappling with the aftermath of several days of heavy showers. The continuous rainfall has caused widespread disruption across the city. According to today’s forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the city will experience a generally cloudy sky, with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers expected with a ‘Yellow alert’ in place. These weather conditions have added to the challenges faced by residents as they deal with waterlogged streets and ongoing recovery from the recent downpours.

On October 24, the minimum temperature is expected to be around 20 degrees Celsius, with a maximum of 30 degrees Celsius. The following day, October 25, will see similar conditions, with light rain anticipated and temperatures ranging from 21 degrees Celsius to 30 degrees Celsius.

This pattern continues on October 26, with light rain expected and temperatures between 21 degrees Celsius and 29 degrees Celsius. The trend of cloudy skies and light rain persists on October 27, with temperatures ranging from 21 degrees Celsius to 28 degrees Celsius. Rain is forecast for October 28 and 29, with minimum temperatures remaining around 21 degrees Celsius and maximums around 28 degrees Celsius. Overall, the week ahead will feature intermittent rain, contributing to the city's ongoing rainy conditions.

Bengaluru has faced heavy downpours since last week, with rainfall ranging from 92 mm to 157 mm due to cloudbursts. This has severely disrupted daily life and business operations, particularly in key tech hubs like Electronic City, Whitefield, and Manyata Tech Park.

On Wednesday, Minister of Electronics and IT/BT Priyank Kharge announced the establishment of a consultative committee aimed at tackling Bengaluru’s ongoing infrastructure issues, which have been worsened by the recent heavy rainfall.

Why Bengaluru Is Experiencing Heavy Rains

According to a report byET, the continuous downpour in Bengaluru is attributed to the active North-East monsoon affecting the southern states. With heavy rainfall persisting for the past five days, many areas of the city have experienced severe waterlogging, resulting in significant traffic congestion and challenges for commuters.
