Ankara: Several people died in a deadly terrorist attack on the Turkish Aerospace Industries’ headquarters near Ankara on Wednesday. Several others were also injured in the attack. Armed assailants reportedly entered the building. A loud explosion and gunshots were also heard.

"A terrorist attack was carried out against the TUSAS facilities in Kahramankazan, Ankara. Unfortunately, we have martyrs and injured people," Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said on X post. The reason for the attack is still unknown. So far no terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

1). Turkey’s local news channel NTV claimed it to be a suicide attack.

2). Two terrorists and four civilians were reportedly killed in the attack.

3).The attack was carried out against the TUSAS facilities in Kahramankazan.

4). A probe has been launched into the attack. “I strongly condemn and curse the terrorist attack on the Turkish Aerospace Industries facilities in the Kahramankazan district of Ankara. A judicial investigation has been launched by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office regarding the treacherous terrorist attack, and 1 Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor and 8 Public Prosecutors have been assigned. I wish God’s mercy on our martyrs and a speedy recovery to our wounded,” Turkey’s justice minister wrote on X.

5). Visuals of Gunmen firing at people also surfaced online.

6). Local reports claimed that several people were taken hostage. However, there is no official confirmation.

7). Witnesses told Reuters that employees inside the building were taken by authorities to shelters.

8). Notably, TUSAS is one of Turkey’s most important defence and aviation companies of Turkey. The company has over 10,000 employees, reported Reuters.
