Mumbai: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has kicked off its campaign for the upcoming Maharashtra assembly polls with Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath’s posters. Posters have been put up in several places in Mumbai displaying images of Yogi Adityanath along with the slogan “Batenge to Katenge.”

Speaking about Yogi's posters, BJP member Vishwabandhu Rai explained that the posters have been put up in order to send a clear message to the people ahead of the high-stakes battle in Maharashtra.

"The opposition is engaging in political manoeuvres, and we have responded to that. The people of North India believe in the Yogi and his slogan 'Bantenge to Katenge,' and so we have started to respond to the opposition tactics in Maharashtra as well. In Haryana, you have seen how people have stood together and responded, supporting the Bharatiya Janata Party. We are also now going to apply this in Maharashtra", he said.

The assembly election in Maharashtra will be held on November 20 and the votes will be counted on November 23. In the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) outperformed the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance, winning 30 of Maharashtra's 48 seats, while the BJP's tally dropped to 9 from 23 in the previous election.

All About Yogi's 'Batenge To Katenge' Message

Earlier on Janmashtami, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath called for unity, as he raked up the ongoing unrest in Bangladesh. CM Yogi Adityanath emphasised the need for unity among the citizens of the country.

He said that the nation's welfare must be the utmost priority and the country can progress if the citizens are united. "Nothing is above the nation. The nation will only be empowered when we are united. We will only be virtuous when we are united. You are seeing what is happening in Bangladesh. Those mistakes should not be repeated here (India)… 'Batenge to Katenge, Ek Rahenge to Nek Rahenge'," said the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister while addressing a gathering in Agra.
