Ace India batter Virat Kohli was seen leaving Bengaluru for Pune ahead of the second Test against New Zealand after the hosts lost the first by eight wickets. Handed a target of a paltry 107, the Kiwis chased it down in 28 overs. Although they received an initial blow with skipper Tom Latham's dismissal in the first over, it was smooth sailing from there on.

On Sunday, October 20, India lost their second Test at home this year, the first after January, to New Zealand by eight wickets. Eight hours later, a video of Kohli at the Bengaluru airport went viral on social media.

In the video, Kohli was seen masked, presumably to avoid being spotted at a public place and being mobbed. Notably, the star batter has a special connection with Bengaluru, having played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore for the last 16 years.

Kohli's dismissal in the first innings found India at 9/2 in the ninth over and soon they were bowled out for just 46 runs, with Matt Henry picking five wickets.

Kohli looked at his best in the second innings, when he scored 70 runs off 102 balls and built a 136-run partnership with Sarfaraz Khan for the third wicket to take India from 95/2 to 231/3.

Kohli has played just two of his 53 home Tests in Pune. The first was against Australia in 2017, when he scored a duck and 13 runs in two innings. The second was against South Africa in 2019, when he scored an unbeaten 254.
