On October 17, Thursday, the makers of Rajinikanth's recent release Vettaiyan took to their social media to release a scene from the film that was cut from its theatrical release.
A Classic Rajini Line
The lighthearted video takes place in an intense scene where Patrick (Fahadh) asks Roopa (Ritika Singh) to order food as he feels hungry, at a point when she hits a roadblock in the investigation. In response, Patrick mouths the famous "Pasi, dhukkam, and sandhosam" line from Muthu (1995).
Vettaiyan, which released on October 10 to mixed to positive response, picked up pace in the box office despite not having an impressive opening. Having released in Telugu, Hindi and Kannada, this Pan-Indian film solidifies the successful partnership between Lyca Productions and actor Rajinikanth, with Vettaiyan being their fourth film together. Prior to it, Rajinikanth worked under the banner for 2.0, Darbar, and Lal Salaam. The film also reunites Rajinikanth and music director Anirudh Ravichander for the fourth time, following their collaborations in films like Petta, Darbar and Jailer.
A Stellar Ensemble Cast
Directed by TJ Gnanavel, Vettaiyan also stars Rana Daggubati, Dushara Vijayan, Fahadh Faasil, Ritika Singh, Manju Warrier, Abhirami, and Rohini, among others. The film consists of a stellar ensemble, including Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who will share the screen with Rajinikanth for the fourth time after they collaborated in Andhaa Kanoon, Geraftaar, and Hum. The film's technical crew comprises music composer Anirudh, cinematographer SR Kathir, and editor Philomin.
