video: indian man breaks record with world's smallest washing machine, internet asks 'what's the use?'

An Indian man, Sebin Saji, recently grabbed headlines for his extraordinary engineering skills by creating the world's smallest washing machine. This little gadget measures 1.28 inches X 1.32 inches X 1.52 inches, making it even smaller than a Tamagotchi digital pet, a popular toy of the 90s era. Saji got recognition from Guinness World Records for this tiniest invention.

Small but still workable with functions exactly similar to a standard-sized washing machine. His design received attention for its precise craftsmanship and for demonstrating the possibility of miniaturisation in engineering. However, the internet has different opinions as they questioned him: "But, What's the Use?"

"I guess this is useful if you want a reusable tissue," commented one user with a laughing emoji, while "The mice in my house will love this," joked another.

Another user sarcastically commented, "Congrats, you're able to wash nothing now." Meanwhile, another user asked, "But why?"

According to Guinness World Records, to earn the title, Sebin had to design, assemble, and successfully demonstrate that his miniature washing machine could complete a full cycle like any standard machine, including wash, rinse, and spin.

He used precise digital callipers to measure the tiny appliance. In a video, Sebin is seen pouring a small amount of washing powder and water into the machine before closing it and starting the cycle.

A crowd gathered to witness his impressive engineering skills, erupting in applause when the official measurements were confirmed. Though not practical for daily use, the tiny machine was a hit. In another recent achievement, India also set a record for the world's smallest vacuum cleaner, measuring just 0.65 cm (0.25 in) on its shortest axis.
