'as i left home...' bengaluru resident shares how stepping out in rain turned into a harrowing incident

Bengaluru: The incessant rain has turned into a nightmare for some residents in Bengaluru. A viral post on social media platform Grapevine revealed a harrowing experience of a Bengaluru resident, who had been living in the tech city for five years. The post said the user stepped out in “heavy but manageable” rain. What followed after left the social media user scared. The post revealed a number of problems that the user had to face that includes stalled scooter, a fallen electric wire on the ground, and dealing with a cab driver who demanded extra money to a ride back home. “Cancel the ride otherwise,” said the cab driver while demanding extra money.

"As I left home, the rain was heavy but manageable. By the time I reached the Sony Signal, it started raining very heavily. The roads are extremely bad and the traffic is just not moving," said the Bengaluru resident. The user said the situation got worse after reaching 80 Feet Road.

There, the user's scooter got broke down as the water had risen above the exhaust of the vehicle. "So, I locked my scooter and parked it on the side. Suddenly I saw an electrical cable fall on the ground and it started sparking just 10 meters away from me. I got really scared and started pushing my scooter to my friends place nearby. Once, I reached there, I ordered an Ola Auto. The worst thing is that it cost me 500 to travel 6kms today," the post read.

After the driver reached the pick-up location, he demanded to hike the charges, "and said that he will cancel it otherwise. I was already so scared that I left my scooter at my friends place and reached home. I am literally shaking while writing this post."

The post's author left an advisory in big bold letters saying, "PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE YOUR HOMES UNLESS YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO."
