In her recent interview, Taapsee reflected on her journey in the action genre, especially the spy-thriller space, where she was ahead of the curve long before it became the trend in Bollywood. Taapsee Pannu says 'everybody wants to do a spy-thriller now'
In a recent chat with News X, the Khel Khel Mein actress was asked about returning to action after Baby and Naam Shabana, Taapsee had a bold take. She pointed out that while everyone’s jumping on the spy-thriller bandwagon now, she had already done it years ago. Taapsee said,“Spy thrillers weren’t the cool thing back then. Now everyone’s into it, but if I do it again, it’ll feel repetitive. I made a mark with those roles, and I don’t want to mess that up. If I’m going back into action, it has to be something fresh, something in a different space.”
For those who remember, Taapsee’s spy role in the 2015 Akshay Kumar-starrer Baby was a standout moment in her career. Her brief but impactful appearance earned her the lead in the 2017 spinoffNaam Shabana. Since then, Bollywood’s spy-thriller craze has only grown, with YRF’s Spy Universe and even an upcoming female-led spy film,Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari.
