Purnima and Amavasya hold extreme religious significance in Hinduism. Purnima is referred to as the full moon day and Amavasya is referred to as the new moon day. On these days, people fast and worship Lord Vishnu and their ancestors to get their blessings. Purnima which falls in the month of Sharad is known as Sharad Purnima.
Sharad Purnima is one of the most famous full moon days in the Hindu calendar. This year, Sharad Purnima will be celebrated on October 16, 2024. The moonrise time on Sharad Purnima will be at 06:32 PM. The Purnima Tithi on this day will start on October 16 at 11:10 AM and the Purnima Tithi will end on October 17 at 07:25 PM.
Sharad Purnima is considered to be one of the most auspicious Purnimas. The moon shines in all its glory and it is believed that the rays of the Sharad Purnima moon have some healing properties that give positive energy to the body and soul.
Sakshi Singhal, tarot reader and astrologer, says that on this day you manifest a lot of things, especially things that are related to your health. If you have any health issue or health-related issue, manifesting it on this day will help to end it.
Sharing a remedy for the same, Singhal says that you should make kheer at your home and when the moon rises, you have to keep the kheer under the moonlight. She says, “If possible, keep a silver coin in it.”
Along with this, you should also manifest your dreams and desires, especially about your health in the kheer. Now, let the kheer stay under the moonlight. However, if you can’t keep it under the moonlight, then, just show the kheer towards the moon. Then, chant ‘Om Chandramase Namah’ atleast 21 times and then bring the kheer home and eat it.
It is believed that whatever you manifest on this day, especially if they are related to your health will come true. Singhal also suggests that pregnant women should sit under the moonlight on Sharad Purnima as doing so will ‘result in beautiful and healthy babies’.
