After Hezbollah's drone strike on Israel on Sunday night near the Binyamina region, there have been many rumors on social media regarding the death of IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi. Fake claims about Halevi quickly spread following the event that resulted in over sixty injuries.

Soon after the attacks, "Halevi Assassination Reports" started to trend on X with many starting to communicate more theories about the IDF chief's death as reported by The Jerusalem Post.

IDF Chief Assassination Claims

As the fake claims began trending on social media, Jackson Hinkle, an American commentator also took to his X handle to mention Halevi's assassination based on unconfirmed sources.

There were several other tweets that had mentioned Halevi's fake death claims as real.

Another tweet wrote, "Breaking: Herzi Halevi Israeli Chief of Staff has been assassinated."

Hezbollah Attacks On Israel

The attacks come amid the rising tensions in the Middle East Region after Israel's full fledged strikes on Hamas and Gaza strip resulted in the deaths of over 40,000 people. The conflict further escalated after Iran accused Israel of killing the Hamas chief and vowed to respond back strongly.

Also, Israeli attacks on Lebanon fueled the conflict and resulted into a regional warfare.
