The Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani actress Anjali Anand is currently starring as Radhika in SonyLIV’s Raat Jawaan Hai. Her character is one part of the main trio of friends who have been together since the very beginning. In the series created by Khyati Anand-Puthran, the friends discuss everything and tackle life’s problems together. Anjali spoke about filming the series and shared how everyone on set was in love with their director Sumeet Vyas.

In an interview with Zoom, Anjali said that the crux of Raat Jawaan Hai was about friendship. The three main characters are parents, spouses and children to their parents, but their friendship always comes first. The trio has no filter amongst themselves and share all their thoughts with each other.
She shared, "Radhika feels like she's the leader of the group. She's like this really bad-ass girl that you meet, confident but you see she has her own demons she deals with. When you see her life from outside, she feels like she has everything. She has a loving husband, a perfect child, [and] a perfect parent. But there's obviously something always missing."

The actress pointed out that the show depicts that once you become a parent, you don't lose the individuality you had before. In the series, the three friends work hard to make time for one another even after marriage and children.

Raat Jawaan Hai's mixed friendship
Unlike other films and shows that primarily depict an all-female or all-male friendship group, Raat Jawaan Hai features the bond between Radhika, Avinash (Barun Sobti) and Suman (Priya Bapat). Anjali shared that many people had pointed out to her that the dynamics in this show were refreshing to see. The actress shared that the series veered more towards real life.
Speaking from her personal experience, Anjali shared that she had a more pure friendship with her male friends as they accept you the way you are. She explained, "The first thing the society does is pits women against each other and that is something that we need to stop. I don't see if it's a man or woman, I just see a good person or a bad person, a person I can be around [or] the person I can't be around. [It's] as simple as that for me right now."

Working with director Sumeet Vyas
Anjali also shared Raat Jawaan Hai was more about capturing the mundane moments in life that are comedic and emotional too. That credit also went to director Sumeet Vyas, who is also an actor. Sharing her experience of working with him, Anjali said, “Let me put it very briefly, the whole set was in love with Sumeet Vyas. The whole set was crushing on Sumeet Vyas including the men. Barun had the biggest crush on Sumeet Vyas. He is so talented.”

She added, "Everything that comes out of his mouth is funny. Every single person would just wait to meet his glance ke mujhe ek baar dekhlo. He is just such an outstanding artiste first of all and such a wonderful man.”
Raat Jawaan Hai premiered on SonyLIV on October 11. The series also stars Hasleen Kaur, Priyansh Jora, and Vikram Singh Chauhan.
