Anees Bazmee is set to celebrate a ‘spooktacular’ Diwali in theatres with the release ofBhool Bhulaiyaa 3. He takes over the directorial duties for the horror-comedy starring Madhuri Dixit, Vidya Balan, Kartik Aaryan, Triptii Dimri and others. It is his second film in the franchise.

After the humongous success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, media reports claimed that Kartik, who plays Ruhan Randhawa or Rooh Baba, hiked his fees by nearly three times for the upcoming installment. Reportedly, he charged around Rs. 40-50 crore for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
However, in an exclusive interview with Zoom, director Anees reacted to the rumour of Kartik hiking his fees. He told us, “Mujhe andaaza nahi hai. Voh iss tarah ka insaan nahi hai joh suddenly aise kar dega. Voh samajhdar hai, acche se kaam karta hai, he is a good actor. Uske zehen mein ek audha hai ki maine itni mehnat ki hai, toh itna milna chahiye. I think voh mangta hai, log dete hai use. Kartik unreasonable nahi hoga. He’s an intelligent, smart and sincere boy.”

(Translation: I have no idea about this. I don’t think Kartik will suddenly hike his fees by a large amount. He’s an understanding and sensible person and a good actor too. He has reached a point in his career where he might be believing that he is deserving of a certain remuneration. I think he demands what he expects and producers do give him that. Kartik isn’t unreasonable. He’s an intelligent, smart and sincere boy.)
