After the huge success of Gadar 2, director Anil Sharma has now announced his next film, Vanvaas. The announcement was made on the occasion of Dussehra, October 12. As per the makers, the intriguing story explores the timeless theme, echoing an ancient tale where duty, honour, and the consequences of one’s actions shape the course of life.
Anil Sharma announces Vanvaas with Nana Patekar
Anil Sharma made the grand announcement with a video, offering a first glimpse of Apne Hi Apno Ko Dete Hai: Vanvaas, giving a glimpse of the film’s vibe with enthralling visuals and a striking background score. The video also featured a couple of lines from the Ram Ram song that further took us into its world, fillied with divinity and tringue. He captioned the video, “Parivaar ke liye ek Parivaarik film #Vanvaas. Aap sabhi ko Dussehra ki hardik shubhkamnayein (sic).”

Anil Sharma to direct Nana Patekar in Vanvaas
The post also mentioned the names of the cast, including Nana Patekar, Utkarsh Sharma, Simrat Kaur, Khushboo Sundar and Rajpal Yadav. Speaking about Vanvaas director Anil Sharma said, “Ramayana and Vanvaas, is a different take on the same where kids make their parents take exile. Kalyug Ka Ramayana jaha Apne hi Dete Hai Apno ko Vanvaas.”

In an earlier interview with Pinkvilla, Sharma had said about Vanvaas, “Banaras mein hai, Kumbh hai aur bahut hi emotional trauma hai. Ye journey of life hai, har aadmi ka jeevan hai…har aadmi se connect karega (It is set in the backdrop of Banaras includes Kumbh. It is an emotional trauma and journey of life which every individual will be able to connect).”
Anil Sharma is the director of movies like Gadar Ek Prem Katha, The Hero: Love Story of a Spy and Gadar 2 (2023).
