Goldberg made his WWE return at Bad Blood 2024 and made an appearance at the Premium live event. The WWE Hall of Famer was seated in the arena with his wife and kid. The camera panned on him during Gunther's segment with Triple H. The World Heavyweight Champion teased Goldberg to the extent that the former Universal Champion jumped the barricade.
The security quickly stopped Golberg from entering the ring. WWE teased a big match with this segment and it's sort of confirmed that they will square off in future. But will the dream match take place at Crown Jewel?
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer has reported that there are no plans for a match between Gunther and Goldberg at Crown Jewel. Gunther is confirmed to face Cody Rhodes for the Crown Jewel belt at the premium live event.
Triple H introduced the Crown Jewel belt at Bad Blood and announced that the world champions will compete for it at Crown Jewel every year. Gunther will square off against Cody Rhodes for the belt. Nia Jax will lock horns against Liv Morgan.
When will Gunther vs Goldberg take place?
The dream match between Gunther and Golbderg can take place at Royal Rumble 2025 or at Wrestlemania 41. Speaking to the press after Bad Blood, Triple H seemingly confirmed that they will square off in the future.
"I can tell you, as you said, Atlanta loves Bill Goldberg, and that’s why he was here tonight. He was with his wife and his son, always gonna get a huge reaction here. You know, things get said. I can tell you that Bill came back, he was not too happy with Gunther, and we’ll see. The further you go, time catches up with all of us, and so the further you go, those talks get further and further away from reality," Triple H said.
"But I don’t know. I saw Bill earlier in the day, and it was great. I saw Bill later in the day, and there was a different look on his face with a spark in his eye, so I would say never say never."
