The maximum temperature is expected to reach 34 degrees Celsius, while the minimum will likely be around 27 degrees Celsius. Keep an umbrella handy, as intermittent rain could impact parts of the city throughout the day. The IMD has also issued a ‘yellow alert’ for thunderstorms and lightning today.

Weekly Weather Forecast for Chennai

From October 11 to 15, Chennai is expected to experience partly cloudy skies with the possibility of moderate rain or thunderstorms. The temperatures will range between 26 degrees Celsius and 33 degrees Celsius during this period, with slightly cooler weather starting on October 15, where the minimum temperature is expected to dip to 25 degrees Celsius. Heavier rain is forecast for October 14 and 15, indicating wet conditions towards the end of the week.

Tamil Nadu Weather

The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) had issued a heavy rain alert for isolated places over 10 districts in Tamil Nadu. Isolated areas in the ghat regions of Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Theni, Dindigul, Nilgiris, Erode, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Salem, and Tirupattur districts were expected to receive heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning on Wednesday.
