For Riitesh, the hardest part was starting. "Initially, it was really tough," he said. When asked about his inspiration for embarking on this weight loss journey, Riitesh mentions two key influences: his children and fitness expert Jitendra Chouksey, the founder of Fittr. “Seeing the way Jitendra transformed the lives of millions of people was inspiring. And my kids—I wanted to be healthier for them.”

The desire to set a positive example for his children pushed him to stay committed, even on the toughest days.

Shedding 46 kg: A 15-Month Journey

In just 15 months, Riitesh went from weighing 120 kg to 74 kg—a remarkable transformation. This transformation wasn’t a result of any quick fix, but rather a carefully designed plan that combined a structured diet and consistent exercise.

His coach, Sunanda, tailored his diet that focused on a low-carb regimen that was adjusted every two weeks to avoid stagnation. In the gym, Riitesh concentrated on resistance training, working out for 90 minutes each day, six days a week. "It was challenging, but it became a part of my routine. I knew if I stuck to it, the results would come."

What Were Some Of The Biggest Challenges You Faced Along The Way?

One of the hardest parts of Riitesh’s journey was resisting temptation, particularly during social events. “I’m a very social person, and staying away from yummy food at parties was one of the biggest challenges,” he says. Coming from a family that enjoyed rich, flavourful meals didn’t make it any easier. “We would have delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner prepared every day. I had to give that up and stick to the food allowed in my diet.”

But with every pound lost, Riitesh found his determination growing stronger. "Once you start seeing changes, it motivates you. And when people start noticing the change in you, that becomes the biggest motivation."

How Did You Stay Motivated Throughout Your Weight Loss Journey?

While some rely on external validation or milestones, for Riitesh, his reflection was enough to keep him going. Each visible improvement became a reason to push harder, work more, and stay focused. “I would look at myself in the mirror every day—that was my biggest motivation. I needed to look better as the days went by,” he shares.

Diet And Exercise Regimen Followed During Weight Loss Transformation

Riitesh’s transformation was built on a solid foundation of a customized diet and exercise routine. “I was on a low-carb diet that my coach Sunanda would adjust every two weeks,” he explains. His workout routine consisted of resistance training at the gym six days a week, for 90 minutes each day.

Did You Encounter Any Setbacks, And If So, How Did You Overcome Them?Like any journey, Riitesh's transformation wasn't without setbacks. "A couple of times, I gave in to temptation and had biryani without informing my coach," he shares. But he didn't let these slip-ups derail his progress. "The next day, I would double my workout to make up for it. I wasn’t going to let small setbacks stop me."

What Advice Do You Have For Others Who Are Looking To Embark On A Similar Transformation Journey?

When asked what advice he has for others who want to transform their bodies, Riitesh’s message is clear: “Just start. No workout is a bad workout. Even if you have no idea about the equipment, go to the gym and talk to the instructors—they will help you.”

He emphasizes that waiting for the "right" time is a mistake. "Don't wait for a Monday, or the first of the month, or even the first of the year. Don't wait for a resolution. Make up your mind and start going to the gym. Follow a low-carb diet and start your journey."

How Has Your Life Changed Since Achieving Your Weight Loss Goals?

Life has changed dramatically for Riitesh since achieving his weight loss goals. “I had to spend a lot of money on a new wardrobe,” he said. But beyond the physical changes, Riitesh feels empowered by his accomplishment. “There are so many things I can do now that I couldn’t before. People notice the change, and they appreciate it.”
