Thiruvananthapuram: Ticket number TG 434222 won Kerala’s 2024 Thiruvonam Bumper lottery carrying a first prize of a whopping Rs 25 crore when the results were declared on Wednesday. It is a good news not only for the winner but also for the agent who sold the ticket. He will get 10 per cent of the whopping amount.
Finance Minister of the state KN Balagopal conducted the draw for the first prize and VK Prashanth MLA conducted the first draw for the second prize. The total prize money to be distributed is Rs 125.54 crore. State Lottery Department Director Abraham Renn, Joint Director (Administration) Maya N. Pillai, Joint Director (Operations), M. Raj Kapur and senior officials from the Lottery Department were also present at the function.

The winning ticket priced at Rs 500 was sold an agent from Wayanad district. The ticket was sold by an agent Jineesh AM with agency number W 402 to Nagaraj who runs NGR Lotteries in Wayanad. He then sold the ticket to the final winner, whose identity is yet to be revealed. From the Rs 25 crore prize for the bumper winner, the agent will get 10 per cent share. The lottery has a second prize of Rs 1 crore for 20 people and a third prize of Rs 50 lakh for 20 people.
The first prize of Rs 25 crore in the Onam Bumper lottery has been won by a ticket sold in Wayanad district. The winning ticket was sold by NGR Lotteries at Sultan Bathery in Wayanad. The ticket was issued to NGR Lotteries by S G Lucky Centre in Panamaram.
The Thiruvonam Bumper lottery had a first prize of Rs 25 crore, a second prize of Rs 1 crore each for 20 winners, a third prize of Rs 50 lakh, a fourth prize of Rs 5 lakh, a fifth prize of Rs 2 lakh, and a final prize of Rs 500.

Out of the 8 million tickets printed, 71,28,218 tickets were sold. Since over 8.5 lakh tickets remained unsold, tickets were still available on the morning of the draw, which was held on Wednesday. Last year, a total of 75,76,096 tickets were sold.
Palakkad district, selling 13,02,680 tickets tops the chart for selling the maximum number of tickets. 9,46,260 tickets were sold in Thiruvananthapuram and 8,61,000 tickets were sold in Thrissur. Sales will continue until just before the draw. The first prize was won in Palakkad district last year. In 2023, the Thiruvonam Bumper lottery, which carried a first prize of ₹25 crore, was reportedly shared among four people from Tiruppur in Tamil Nadu.
