As North Carolina recovers from the impact of Hurricane Helene, victims in the state are scrambling for survival. The federal government, the state administration as well as other organisation are providing aid in the areas affected by Helene. Amid that, a video surfaced Monday showing a helicopter seemingly destroying aid meant for the people of the Burnsville, NC.
The video was shared on social media platform X by Colin Rugg, a user who shares trending content on social media. Rugg alleged in the post citing 'locals' that a couple of black SUVs circled the area where the aid was kept in a "slow roll" for 45 minutes before a helicopter arrived and allegedly destroyed the aid.

Hurricane Helene came with a near-record-breaking size, massive storm surge, strong winds and heavy rainfall. Having made landfall on Florida's coast, it entered 500 miles inland affecting multiple states. At least 230 people died across Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. Entire communities, roads bridges were destroyed.
Despite the landfall in Florida, the impact was felt most inland, especially in Georgia and the Carolinas. More than half the deaths were in North Carolina, where flash floods affected thousands of people.
North Carolinians have received over $27 million in individual assistance from Federal Emergency Management Agency, according to regional administrator MaryAnn Tierney. More than 83,000 residents have registered for assistance, as noted by Governor Roy Cooper's office said.
Dolly Parton pledged $1 million to the Mountain Ways Foundation, with her businesses and the Dollywood Foundation matching this amount, while Walmart, Sam’s Club, and the Walmart Foundation will donate $10 million to hurricane relief efforts, Walmart US President John Furner said.
