Goldberg made his much-awaited return to WWE at Bad Blood 2024 and he was among the legends seated in the arena to witness the match. The WWE Hall of Famer was seated with his wife and son. The WWE cameras showed him on the screen when Gunther entered the ring during Triple H's special announcement.
Gunther teased Goldberg to such an extent that the former Universal Champion jumped the barricade to confront him. But he was stopped by the WWE's security. WWE has all but confirmed that they will square off in a marquee match at a future premium live event.
The dream match could also take place at Crown Jewel 2024. As per the Triple H's announcement, Gunther is scheduled to face Cody Rhodes for the Crown Jewel title belt. But Gunther isn't confirmed to stay champion till then. He is scheduled to defend his title against Sami Zayn on this week's Raw and Gunther's plans for Crown Jewel could change. Here, we have a look at how WWE could still book a match between Gunther and Goldberg for Crown Jewel 2024 –
The planned match between Gunther and Cody Rhodes for the Crown Jewel title belt will be off if Gunther loses his title to Sami. Not to forget, Sami ended Gunther's record-breaking run as the Intercontinental Champion at Wrestlemania 40 and he could back himself once again to do the job.
Goldberg could assist Sami during his match by attacking Gunther during the main event of Raw. An interference from Goldberg will all but confirm a win for Sami and he will dethrone Gunther to become the World Heavyweight Champion.
The change in title would mean that Gunther will not longer be part the match for the Crown Jewel belt and he can challenge Gunther for the dream match at Crown Jewel 2024. Goldberg's previous WWE match took place at the Elimination Chamber 2022, which took place in Saudi Arabia.
