Unfiltered Smaran SahuExpressing his enthusiasm for Colourrs Of Love, Smaran told Zoom, “This project has been under development for quite some time. I was drawn to it because when I spoke to our director, he was very clear with his vision. It’s rare to find a director who has so much conviction in what he wants to portray. I still remember the first time we spoke; it was a Zoom meeting, and he ran through the entire script in two hours, scene by scene, without looking at any other screen. I could tell his clarity of vision was immaculate. His passion was evident in the way he spoke about it, and it was a story that really mattered to him. Being part of it excited me.”
Smaran added, "Plus, the whole aspect of mental health that the character explores is something very close to my heart. As an actor, it gives you so many layers to play with. So, yeah, I was gung-ho and excited from the get-go."

Talking about the relatability of his role, Smaran shared, "I'm a complete outsider when it comes to the acting space. I don’t have any family connections whatsoever. Surviving in Bombay is difficult when you’re not from the city. You have to pay all your bills and keep going with your life. A lot of times, rejections happen, things don’t go your way. In the initial years, when you haven’t matured enough, you take it personally. You start questioning yourself—whether it’s your luck, stars, or something lacking within you. You go through tough times and feel quite alone. Because let’s be honest, it’s your journey at the end of the day. No matter who you talk to, even those close to you, they might not fully relate. Life as an actor has its ups and downs, especially when you’re not from the industry. But you take it in stride."
Smaran continued, "Personally, I went through a phase where I was depressed, but you take it on the chin and try again. That’s how you get through it. I could relate to my character because there were similarities and parallels with my own life. As an actor, you want to use your craft to support others. If you can portray what a person goes through when they are depressed and how they overcome it, it can offer support to others who might be going through the same thing. That’s what excited me about the part."
