Jaane Jaan crushed it on Netflix, becoming one of the top Indian films worldwide last September. The movie earned major love, especially for Kareena Kapoor, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Vijay Varma’s killer performances. Shot entirely around the beautiful Darjeeling, the setting was perfect for the story. But before the cameras rolled, director Sujoy Ghosh faced doubts over whether the Jab We Met actress would even agree to shoot the film there.
Sujoy Ghosh reveals skeptics said 'Kareena would never agree to shoot in Darjeeling'
In his recent interview with Mashable India, Ghosh opened up about how people often misread Kareena, highlighting how committed she is to her work. He shared,"People thought she would never shoot in Darjeeling, but she proved them wrong. She brought her A-game to the role, and her dedication was unreal."
Explaining why he chose her, Ghosh added, “When I imagine characters, a face always comes to mind. For the role of a mom working non-stop to support her kid, who still looks stunning while doing it, Kareena was the one. Once she said yes, half the battle was won. After that, she carried the film on her shoulders.”
Sujoy Ghosh wanted to make Jaane Jaan with Saif Ali Khan, Aishwarya Rai
As fans know, the movie is based on the famous novel Devotion of Suspect X. Interestingly,Ghosh initially dreamed of making this film in 2015 with Saif Ali Khan and Aishwarya Rai, but it didn’t pan out. And the project finally took off with Kareena leading the way.
