New Delhi: Residents in the national capital experienced clear skies and a sunny day on Friday. The maximum temperature was recorded at 36.5 degrees Celsius, which is 2.3 notches above normal, the weather department said. Delhi is seeing hotter days after the southwest monsoon officially came to an end on Wednesday. However, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had earlier predicted that the city could see light rain on October 5. But in the latest forecast, the weather department has ruled out the possibility of rain.
This week, Delhi recorded a temperature of 37 degrees Celsius, which is higher than the last year. On October 10 in 2023, Delhi recorded 36.7 degrees (on October 10). On Wednesday, the minimum temperature was recorded at 24.8 degrees Celsius, which is three notches above the season's normal.

Due to the recent withdrawal of rain and increasing temperature in the city, the humidity level has also been shot up. At 5.30 pm, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) recorded humidity at 56 per cent.

According to the IMD forecast, there will be cloudy skies consistently this week. Meanwhile, the temperature can range from 34 to 36 degrees Celsius, and minimum temperature will settle between 24-26 degrees Celsius.

At 4 pm, Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 183, which falls in the 'moderate' category. It should be noted that an AQI between zero and 50 is considered 'good'. From 51 and 100, it is 'satisfactory', 'moderate' if it falls between 101 and 200, 201 and 300 'poor', 301 and 400 'very poor', and 401 and 500 'severe'.
