That’s exactly what Rahul Bose did, defying the odds and excelling in both fields. From the rugby pitch to the silver screen, his career choices have been an inspiration for many of us. Today, with the release of Berlin, Rahul Bose continues to captivate audiences with his skills. In a candid conversation with Zoom, he recalled how, back in 1998, he not only represented India in rugby but also starred in landmark films such asTakshak, Split Wide Open and Mr. and Mrs. Iyer.

Recalling his passion for acting and choosing to play rugby for India, Rahul Bose told Zoom, “My first priority was playing for India, and films came second. During my time playing rugby for India from 1998 to 2009, I also had some of the most successful movies of my career. It began with films like Takshak, Split Wide Open, Pyaar Ke Side Effects, Mr. and Mrs. Iyer, Jankaar Beats, and Shaurya. Dono trains ek hi patri par chal rahi thi, and I was pursuing both dreams.”

He added, “Every year, I would look forward to the International Rugby calendar, which featured two major tournaments—one in March and another in April. I dedicated more than half of the year to preparing for and playing rugby, as it was my priority. The remaining months were devoted to movies and shoots. To my knowledge, no one else in this country has managed to play rugby for their country while also maintaining a successful acting career at the same time. Those were some of the most productive years of my life, and I played many leading roles during that period. It was quite a journey."
