Bengaluru: The recent wherein a passenger stabbed a bus driver, the operators are now worried about their safety and have sought permission to keep guns so that they can safeguard themselves from unruly passengers. This comes after a frustrated man stabbed a bus driver a few days back. It was reported that he was going to attack his boss for firing him.
One Yogesh wrote a letter on behalf of the operators and said, "I, Shri Yogesh, V.S., Driver-Company-Administrator, who have signed above, on my own behalf request that the operators are on duty for 24 hours continuously in the traffic congestion and polluted air in the big Bangalore metropolis."
"They are not able to spend time with their families. It is well known that people have attacked the drivers and bus passengers here on petty issues. The murderous attack by travellers on the Kannadigar employees of the organization is proof of this," he added in the letter, written in Kannada."Therefore we appeal to them on behalf of all the employees of the organization that they should be allowed to obtain gun licenses for the safety of their lives," he added.

The incident occurred when 45-year-old conductor Yogesh asked Harsh Sinha, a 25-year-old man from Jharkhand, to move away from the footboard for safety reasons while the bus was in motion. The angry passenger assaulted and stabbed the conductor in the stomach.
Sinha had recently lost his job at a BPO in Bengaluru on September 20, which may have contributed to his aggressive behaviour. Other passengers locked the accused inside the bus. In the video accessed by Times Now, the person can be seen breaking the glass and doors of the bus in an attempt to escape, terrifying the nearby commuters.
Following the attack, passengers on the bus quickly held the accused and handed him over to the Whitefield police. The conductor was taken for medical assistance, and the police are investigating the case.
Few weeks ago, a school bus from Treamis School in Bengaluru’s Electronic City was attacked by a group of people on Monday afternoon. The incident happened around 4 PM on Route 35 when a Scorpio vehicle stopped in front of the bus, blocking its path. The attackers broke the driver’s window with a metal object and tried to enter the bus.
