The Indian women's cricket team made a disastrous start to their campaign in the 2024 Women's T20 World Cup after an embarrasing defeat to New Zealand at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday (October 4) which has put their chances of reaching the semi-final in jeapordy. This result meant the White Ferns ended a 10-match losing streak in T20Is.
The Women in Blue are in the group of death and still have to face defending champions Australia (October 13). Before that the Harmanpreet Kaur-led team have to overcome two tricky challenges with matches against Pakistan (October 6) and Sri Lanka (October 9) .

India's chance of qualfying for the Women's T20 World Cup face a big threat as even three wins in their remaning three games might not be enough. While the chances of a win over Australia are minimal, the 2020 runner's-up need some other results to go other day.
They need to hope that either New Zealand win all their games including a win over Australia. If Australia beat New Zealand, they need to hope that the Sophie Devine-led also lose to either Sri Lanka or Pakistan.
If India lose to either Pakistan or Sri Lanka, their chances of qualification will be over.
