After Celine, Missoni is the latest luxury brand to have announced a change in artistic leadership. Filippo Grazioli has announced his departure as creative director of Missoni after more than two years with the brand. Citing a desire for new creative and artistic challenges, Grazioli’s exit marks a significant shift for the Italian fashion house.

Missoni CEO Livio Proli said in a statement, "We are grateful to Filippo for his contribution and dedication. We look to the future with confidence, continuing our path of growth driven by innovation and quality while staying true to our strong identity."

“It has been an honour and a privilege to be part of Missoni. I am proud of the achievements and the experiences shared with the entire team. I am now ready to face new challenges and explore new frontiers,” affirmed Grazioli.

Missoni announces new creative director

He will be succeeded by Alberto Caliri, a seasoned professional within the company.

Caliri has a long history with Missoni, having joined the team in 1998. He previously held the role of creative director on an interim basis following Angela Missoni's resignation in 2021, which occurred during a management overhaul.

Grazioli took charge of Missoni's creative department in 2022, where he was responsible for both men’s and women’s collections, as well as the lifestyle division. Prior to joining Missoni, he held significant positions at Burberry and Givenchy, working closely with renowned designer Riccardo Tisci.

The new creative director Caliri's tenure at Missoni has been marked by his leadership in the home and sport categories, where he has driven notable success. During his earlier years with the brand, he served as a close collaborator with Angela Missoni, effectively supporting her creative vision.

The company's landscape shifted in May 2020 when investment fund FSI acquired a 41.2% stake in Missoni, while the family retained the remaining 58.8%. Following this change, Grazioli was brought in to oversee ready-to-wear collections, while Caliri transitioned to lead the home line, a critical segment for the brand.
