The Kannada film Prapti, which delves into themes of extramarital affairs, divorce, and modern-day relationships, is soon to hot theatres. Directed by Dr. S. Mahesh Babu, the film has passed censor with UA certificate.

Promotional activities have begun with the release of three songs and an official trailer. The cast includes Jayasurya and Gauri Sagar in key roles.

A film on Badaga community

Dr. S. Mahesh Babu, who hails from Ooty, has long nurtured an interest in cinema. After completing his higher education, he established a recording studio in Bengaluru and previously made a film focusing on the Badaga community.

In Prapti, he not only directed the film but also wrote the story, screenplay, and dialogues. Additionally, he handled the music and editing. The movie is produced under the banner of CC Creations.

Modern day challenges

Prapti tackles the challenges faced by modern relationships, particularly the impact of extramarital affairs leading to divorce and the increasing mental strain on young people. According to Mahesh, the film aims to send a meaningful message to today’s generation about changing societal values.

The cast also includes Nikita Ram, Monisha Thomas, Kalasa Manjunath, Ajith Jain, Kamal Jimiroi, Manjula Reddy, and several others. Cinematographer Kumar Gowda and choreographer Gauri have contributed to the film’s visual appeal.

The trailer launch event was inaugurated by veteran director Sai Prakash, who praised the film’s intriguing visuals and commended Dr. S. Mahesh Babu for his dedication to Kannada cinema, despite his Tamilian roots. He emphasised that cinema transcends regional boundaries, and contributions from filmmakers like Mahesh Babu enrich the industry.
