Kia first showcased the EV9 in the Indian market as a concept model back in 2022. After two years, the brand has now launched the premium electric SUV in the country at a starting price of Rs 1.3 crore (ex-showroom). It is to be noted that the EV has been introduced in its top-spec GT-Line trim. The vehicle has joined the EV6 in the brand's premium EV lineup and will be sold as a CBU. Here are all the details of the Kia EV9.
The Kia EV9 has the same design as the international market version, featuring a modern, boxy look with uniquely designed headlamps and matrix LED lights. Additionally, the car will have new 20-inch alloy wheels and flush door handles, and will be available in five paint scheme options: Snow White Pearl, Aurora Black Pearl, Panthera Metal, Pebble Gray, and Ocean Blue.

The cabin of Kia EV9 houses a host of features, including a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a dual electric sunroof, an illuminated steering wheel emblem with electric adjustment, a head-up display, electrically adjustable captain seats at the rear, a 14-speaker Meridian audio system, three-zone climate control, and more.
The safety package for the EV9 will include 10 airbags, ABS, ESC, downhill brake control, VSM, front, side, and rear parking sensors, all-wheel disc brakes, a 360-degree camera, as well as ADAS Level 2 features such as Forward Collision Warning and Avoidance Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, High Beam Assist, and Lane Keep Assist.
The Indian version of the Kia EV9 gets a 99.8kWh battery pack and dual electric motors available for an all-wheel drive setup. Together, the two motors produce 384 hp and 700 Nm of peak torque, allowing the SUV to accelerate from 0-100kph in 5.3 seconds. The EV9 offers a certified range of 561km on a single charge according to ARAI standards. The battery can be charged from 10-80 percent in 24 minutes using a DC fast charger.
