​Navratri 2024: One of the most important Hindu festivals, Navratri is celebrated twice a year in India – once in autumn (Sharad or Sharadiya Navratri) and the other in spring (Chaitra Navratri). This year, Sharad Navratri (also known as Durga Puja in the Eastern part of India) will begin on October 3 (Thursday). During this festival, Maa Durga is worshipped in her nine different avatars, collectively known as Navdurga and devotees celebrate by wearing new clothes according to the Navratri colours, decorate their home, go pandal hopping, and share happy moments with their loved ones.
