Robert Jenrick, one of the lead runners for the Tory party leader position, urged for stricter visa rules for Indians, especially for those who enter the UK through an illegal route.

While referring to the proposal, Jenrick mentioned that Indians have received 250,000 visas in 2023, even though the percentage of deportation of illegal Indians remains at an all time low.

Meanwhile, another party leader nominee, Kemi Badenoch, spoke about cultural disputes in the country – referring to incidents of violence after an India- Pakistan cricket match in Leicester.

As reported by the BBC, Kemi Badenoch reiterated her take on immigration by saying, “It is quite clear that there are many people who have recently come to this country who have brought views from their countries of origin that have no place here.”

Meanwhile, Jenrick stated that there should be strict visa rules imposed on nations that do not take back their nationals who are living illegally in the UK as reported by The Daily Mail.

The Conservative Party elections for its new leader are all set to commence online and the party will choose its leader on November 2. The decision for election comes after party leader Rishi Sunak resigned from his leadership position after his loss in July elections.
