england vs australia: liam livingstone creates history, becomes quickest...

England remained alive in the five-match ODI series by registering a big 186-run win over Australia in the fourth game at Lord's. The home team registered a big total of 312/5 in just 39 overs in a rain-marred game. Australia were never in contention to chase down the target and they got bowled out for a mere total of 126 in 24.4 overs.

Liam Livingstone's innings proved to be the game-changer for England towards the end and he remained unbeaten on 62 off just 27 balls. The only England batter to strike with more than a strike rate of 200, Livingstone hit 7 sixes and 3 boundaries in his knock.

The right-handed batsman etched his name in history books en route to his half-century. Livingstone now holds the record of scoring the quickest half-century at Lord's. He breached the 50-run mark off the 25th delivery he faced.

The record was previously held by Mitchell Marsh, who is leading Australia in the series. Marsh scored a half-century at the iconic venue off just 26 balls. David Willey now holds the third spot. He scored a 30-ball half-century against India in 2018.

Adam Gilchrist has moved down to the fourth spot. He scored a 33-ball half-century against Pakistan in the 1999 World Cup final. The Steve Waugh-led side won the final to lift the trophy for the second time.
