Delhi University, DU Election Result 2024 LIVE: The Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) elections are in full swing and the results will be announced today, September 28. However, Delhi High Court did put a halt on counting until the vandalism and defacement of public propterties is fixed. The counting is scheduled for tomorrow but will only begin after Delhi HC's nod.
For the past 10 years, RSS-affiliated Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has dominated the DUSU elections. Last year also ABVP managed to secure three positions including the President post, while the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), the student wing of the Congress, wrested the vice president post.
Well, this year's election is a bit more interesting as it marks the irst-ever alliance between the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) and the All India Students’ Association (AISA). Delhi University students say it is still a neck-to-neck fight between ABVP and NSUI.
This year, as many as 21 candidates are contesting for four key positions– eight for president, five for vice president, and four each for secretary and joint secretary. The voting is concluded today and the results would be announced tomorrow or as per the orders by Delhi High Court. Check LIVE Updates on DUSU Election Results 2024 and initial trends here.
