India are all set to take on Bangladesh in the second Test of the two-match series at the Green Park International Stadium in Kanpur. This will be an important match for India especially after their victory in the first game in Chennai where they won by 280 runs. They would look to continue their momentum and seal a win in order to win the series by a whitewash.
A win in the second Test would put India one step ahead in assuring their place in the final of the World Test Championship in 2025 for the third consecutive time. Rohit Sharma and his men are already in a great position, and need to win just four more Tests out of nine to assure a place in the WTC final.
All eyes will be on Ravichandran Ashwin, especially after his tremendous all-round performance in the first Test, He became the first player in history to slam a century and take a five-wicket haul in the same Test on the same ground more than once. In the second Test to, he will be chasing a multitude of records.
Ahead of the second Test, Shakib Al Hasan dropped a bombshell when he announced his retirement from international cricket. Whil he intends to play his last Test in front of home vs South Africa in October, security concerns back in Bangladesh could mean that the Kanpur Test could be the last time we see him in whites.
