Remember when Virat Kohli's failure in the 2015 Cricket World Cup semi-final between India and Australia was attributed to Anushka Sharma? The United States of America (USA) witnessed similar scenes in recent days as pop icon Taylor Swift has come under the firing line for poor performances by boyfriend Travis Kelce during the National Football League (NFL) 2024-25 season.
While the Kanas City Chefs have made a brilliant start to the campaign after winning the Super Bowl last year and are unbeaten this season, Kelce has failed to impress so far. In their clash against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday (September 22) at the Mercedes-Benz Arena, the 34-year-old registered just four receptions and no takedowns.
Earlier, Kelce had an inffective performance in the first game of the season against Baltimore Rovers as he caught just three passes for 24 yards.

Taylor Swift Faces Heat
Taylor Swift has come under fire for Kelce's poor display with the the Pop star being blamed for the defeat. ESPN Analyst Todd Mcshay claimed that Kelce is out of shape and accused him of partying all season.
"Are we not allowed to say that he's out of shape? That he's been partying all offseason? That he's been jet-setting around with the most famous person probably in the entire world? That he's drinking [and] going to the U.S. Open and he's got cocktails?," said Mcshay on the Ryen Russilo Podcast.

"The respect he gets from defenses is still the same. But the athlete is not. Is he going to work himself into shape during the season? Absolutely. He’s an unbelievable competitor and one of the best to ever do it," Mcshay added.
Last week, Steven A Smith had thrown shade on Swift too and claimed that cameras showed more of Swift than Kelce during Chefs' match against Bengal last week.
"We saw more of Taylor Swift than we saw of Travis Kelce yesterday, on a Sunday afternoon. That wasn’t supposed to happen [Sunday]. We were supposed to see more of Travis Kelce yesterday than we saw of her. That’s not happening though. You’ve got to get going, you’ve got 39 receiving yards in the first two games. Come on now. Football season is here," said Smith on the CBS brodcast.
Taylor Swift Gets Support
American actor Whoopi Goldberg came out in strong support of Taylor swift and reminded Kansas fans of their super bowl win last year. She also blamed the criticism of Swift on her support for Kamala Harris in the US Presidential election.
“They apparently forgot that they won a Super Bowl last year with [Kelce], and [he and Swift] were just as tight then as they are now. Grow up, y’all. Stop putting this on her. Your team is fine, your team is doing well. Shut up," said Goldberg on the latest episode of the View.
“I’m blaming MAGA. They’re mad that she is not supporting You Know Who," Goldberg added.
Virat Kohli-Anushka Repeat?
Kohli and Anushka's relationship was public knowledge, and she was spotted watching from the stands in Australia during the 2015 World Cup. After the star Indian cricketer's poor knock in the semi-final against the home team at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Anushka was trolled. This trend continued over the next few months before Kohli put out a strong social media post against the trolls during the 2016 T20 World Cup for which he was widely appreciated.

The couple got married in December 2017 and currently are parents to two children. Kohli has spoken about the positive impact Anushka has had on his life on multiple occasions and credited her for the improvements in his personality and lifestyle.
Talking about Swift and Kelce, they are regularly spotted at various events together and most recently watched the US Open just before the NFL season started. She was present in the stands for most of Kanas City Chefs title win last including the Super Bowl.
