The PWR DUPR India Masters plays a pivotal role as it officially kicks off the new Pickleball World Rankings (PWR) season. This three-day event in New Delhi, scheduled from October 24 to 27, serves as the opening tournament of the DUPR Indian Tour. Set to take place at the DLTA Stadium, it promises to be an exhilarating contest among some of the top players on the court.
Out of the 14 competitors of the tournament, Sarah Jane Lim of the Philippines is an all-rounder and an absolute beast on the court.
Who is Sarah Jane Lim?
Sarah, hailing from the city of Makati, chose pickleball after a switch from tennis. She functions as a coach along with being a pro player and is presently the No. 1 ranked female player from her country.
Career
Sarah Jane Lim is part of the Philippines Pickleball Team and even teamed up with Leander Lazaro, who is the country’s best player currently in the World Championships. She was earlier drafted to the Gold Coast Glory in MLP Australia. As per the latest DUPR Ratings, Jane Lim has a rating of 4.623 in Singles category and a rating of 5.165 in the Doubles. She is known for her dominance and intense competitiveness on the court, making her one of the stars to watch out for.
In July 2024, The Times Group in partnership with Pickleball League Asia Private Limited, unveiled the Pickleball World Rankings (PWR) during a grand event in Dubai in an attempt to take the game further worldwide.
Pickleball debuted in the country back in 2008 through Sunil Valavalkar and in the last few years, there has been significant growth due to the global influence, and in the coming years with the increase in popularity, there will be an increased rate of participation.
