MG Windsor EV Prices Announced With Battery, Gets More Expensive By…

JSW MG Motor India recently launched the Windsor EV in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This was the price the brand announced at the time of the launch with the battery being offered on a rental basis. Now, the automaker has announced the prices of the vehicle, inclusive of the price of the battery which starts at Rs 13.50 lakh (ex-showroom). This makes the car more expensive by around Rs 3.51 lakh. The vehicle will be available in three trim levels i.e., Excite, Exclusive, and Essence. The most expensive version has a price tag of Rs 15.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

With the aforementioned price range, the MG Windsor EV is placed in the price bracket of rivals like Tata Nexon and the Mahindra XUV400. Specifically, Tata Nexon EV comes priced between Rs 14.49 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 19.29 lakh (ex-showroom). Meanwhile, the Mahindra XUV400 comes priced between Rs 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 19.39 lakh (ex-showroom). For the extra money, the Nexon EV offers a range of Rs 465 km and XUV400 offers a claimed range of 456 km.

Meanwhile, the MG Windsor EV is powered by a 38 kWh battery pack with prismatic cells and offers a range of 331 km. The power from the battery is transferred to the front axle-mounted motor which produces 136 hp of power and 200 Nm of peak torque. Once fully drained, the battery can be charged using a 45 kW charger which boosts the power from 0 to 80 percent in 55 minutes. The EV also gets a 3.3 kW and 7.7 kW AC charger which can charge the battery from 0 to 100 percent in 14 hours and 6.6 hours, respectively.

Additionally, the MG Windsor EV offers features like a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster which enables Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The brand also offers rear AC vents, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, a panoramic glass roof, and ambient lighting.
