Actor Sohum Shah's highly-praised horror film Tumbbad, which was released in 2018, arrived in the theatres once again on September 13. The movie is finally getting the success it deserves at the box office. Within days of its re-release, Tumbbad surpassed its original box office collection. Now, it is set to cross the Rs 20 crore mark.

On its second Saturday at the box office, the Rahi Anil Barve directorial earned Rs 2.75 crore. This brought its total box office collection to Rs 19.45 crore.

Aanand L Rai On Tumbbad Success
Producer Aanand L Rai recently told Zoom, “Tumbbad’s re-release happened for a reason. When we were in 2018 and it got released, the film never had that larger audience in the theatres. People loved the film, who watched it but the number was less. In the last five years, a lot of people have seen this film on OTT. I saw a definite regret in them for not watching on the big screen. We somewhere knew that if we re-release it, there was the hidden guilt in the audience for not watching it. They will come to theatres.”
