Hardik Pandya has been rested from Test cricket duties by the BCCI although the star all-rounder is preparing for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Bangladesh next month. The Baroda cricketer recently sparked speculation regarding his Test comeback when he was seen training with the red ball in a video shared by him on social media.

The last time Pandya played a Test match for India was in 2018, and in the five years since he hasn't been asked to play any red ball games given his workload management policy. The BCCI are hoping to have Hardik available for Test matches and the all-rounder has informed Baroda regarding his availability for first-class matches ahead of the Border Gavaskar Trophy later this year in Australia.

According to a report in Sports Tak, Hardik Pandya could be seen returning to the Test team if all goes to plan during his red-ball games with Baroda. The captain of Mumbai Indians has prioritized white-ball cricket in order to manage his injury woes, but he is likely to be a key asset in all likelihood against the Australian team.
