'alag hi dadagiri hai': ticketless passenger argues with man over reserved seat in train

A video of a heated argument between two train passengers over a reserved seat has gone viral, highlighting the growing issue of overcrowding and ticketless travellers in Indian Railways. The clip, shared on X (formerly Twitter) by user Ghar Ke Kalesh (@gharkekalesh), shows a man without a reservation demanding to sit in a reserved seat, sparking a confrontation with the rightful passenger.

The incident took place in a sleeper coach, where the man, travelling without a reservation, asked another passenger seated on a side upper berth to move his leg so he could sit. When the seated passenger refused to give up his reserved seat, the situation escalated. The unreserved traveler sarcastically asked whether the passenger intended to take the seat home, to which the rightful seatholder responded, "Why do people book tickets in advance?" He further emphasised that he had reserved the seat for comfort.

Since being shared, the video has garnered over 922,000 views, sparking widespread debate in the comments section. Many users expressed frustration over the nuisance caused by ticketless passengers. One user wrote, "It infuriates me every time I see someone without a ticket asking passengers who have paid for theirs to 'adjust.' It's unfair and disrespectful!"

Others called for stricter enforcement of rules. "Railways should take note and make strict rules against such practices," a user commented, while another suggested more railway staff should be deployed to address these issues. A user said, "Aj kal alag hi dadagiri chal rhi hai logo ki."
