Pune: A city municipal corporation truck fell into a pit, leaving people shocked after the road caved in. The driver and helper inside the vehicle were saved in time. The entire incident was caught on CCTV camera. The video showed the truck slowly moving in a compound and within 10 seconds, it fell backward into the pit upside down as the road sunk it.
It seemed as if the road sucked the truck into it with bystanders watching in disbelief. Luckily, the engine part and cabin where the driver sits remained out giving people a chance to rescue the driver and helper.
The incident occurred in Pune's Samadhan Square in the Budwar Peth area on the premises of the city post office. Pune fire brigade was called in whose timely action prevented the situation from worsening. The incident could have been fatal for the driver as well as the helper but they were saved in time.

Meanwhile, the authorities are investigating how the truck fell into the pit and assessing the damage caused. The local residents have expressed concern over their safety, calling for immediate audit to prevent similar incidents in the future.

The vehicle was there for drainage cleaning work and 20 fire department officials and police personnel had arrived at the spot for the rescue operation.
