On Friday, the Sensex climbed 325.08 points, reaching 83,509.88, while the Nifty gained 110.15 points to trade at 25,525.95. The Sensex also touched an all-time intraday high of 83,624.55 during the opening session.
Within the Nifty index, several prominent companies, including NTPC, Titan, Kotak Bank, And Nestle India were among the top gainers. On the other hand BPCL, Coal India, ONGC , And Adani Ports were the the top losers.

Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) sold equities amounting to Rs 2,547.53 crore and Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) bought equities amounting to Rs 2,012.86 crore respectively on the previous trading day, as indicated by exchange data.
Dr. V K Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist, Geojit Financial Services said, "The Dow and S&P 500 setting yet another record highs yesterday is indicative of the strength of this ongoing global bull run led by the mother market US. The good labour market data from the US indicates that the labour market is only slowing, not deteriorating. With inflation under control, this means the US is set for a soft landing under a declining interest rate scenario."
